Who we are
Daylede is operated by Benri LLC, a California limited liability company located at 2108 N ST STE N, Sacramento, CA 95816, United States ("Benri", "we"). Benri LLC is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us any time at contact@benree.tech.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address and an optional display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your basic Google profile (name, email address, profile image). If you register a passkey, we store only its public key and a device label — the private key never leaves your device.
Usage information. The newsletters you follow, the issues you save, the topics you create, and whether you opened an issue — in the reader or via a small tracking image in the email. We use open data for one thing: automatically pausing newsletters you have stopped reading. If you enable push notifications, we store the push endpoint your browser issues for that purpose.
Payment information. Plus subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and plan; your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
What we don't collect. No advertising identifiers, no third-party analytics, no precise location. We use only the session cookies needed to keep you signed in.
How we use your information
We use the information above to deliver the digests you subscribe to (by email, on the web, and by push if you enable it), to operate and secure your account, to bill Plus subscriptions, and to stop emailing you when you stop reading. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Service providers
We share personal information only with the processors that run the service for us: Cloudflare (hosting and storage, United States), Amazon Web Services (email delivery), Stripe (subscription billing), and Google (only if you choose Google sign-in). When you create a newsletter topic, the topic text you write is processed by AI models via OpenRouter to generate content — your email address and reading activity are not sent to model providers.
International data transfer
We operate from the United States, and personal information is processed and stored there (and on Cloudflare's global network). If you use Daylede from outside the United States, including Japan, you understand that your information is transferred to and processed in the United States, where we apply the safeguards described in this policy.
Users in Japan (APPI)
For users in Japan, Benri LLC handles personal information in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報保護法). The purposes of use are those stated in this policy. We provide personal information to third parties only as described under "Service providers." You may request disclosure, correction, deletion, or suspension of use of your personal information by emailing contact@benree.tech; we will respond without undue delay after verifying your identity.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete the personal information associated with it within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal or accounting purposes. Published issue content is not personal information and may be retained.
Children
Daylede is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Do Not Track
We do not track you across other websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to change — the service behaves the same either way.
Changes to this policy
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. For material changes we will notify you by email or in the product before they take effect.
