Yen temporarily falls to 160 range, level not seen since Japan-U.S. coordinated intervention

The yen fell to as low as 160 per dollar on the night of the 28th after Fed Chair Warsh signaled rate hikes, returning to levels not seen since the coordinated Japan-U.S. intervention at the end of July. The Ministry of Finance announced it conducted a record 15.3993 trillion yen in yen-buying intervention from July 30 to August 26, bringing this year's cumulative total to 27.1342 trillion yen.
