Tectonic Exploit Drains $75M, Cronos Validators Halt Entire Chain

Tectonic was exploited for an estimated $75M on Cronos, prompting validators to halt the blockchain in one of 2026's largest DeFi hacks. The CLARITY Act faces a 60-vote cloture test on Sept. 15, Uniswap has processed $1.5B in stock-token trades on Robinhood Chain, and Metaplanet moved 2,400 BTC to Coinbase Prime. More Markets also lost ~$9.3M on Flow EVM, while Ethereum's staking queue hit a record 2.06M ETH.

Tectonic exploit drains estimated $75M as Cronos validators halt chain The attacker allegedly pumped TONIC's price roughly 100-fold in 20 minutes and borrowed against the inflated collateral. The loss estimate is preliminary, and Tectonic has told users not to interact with the protocol while it investigates. 1
