An attacker exploited a compromised Switchboard oracle key to inflate IOTA's price to $10M and mint ~4.94M VUSD, forcing the oracle to halt Move-based deployments on Aptos, Sui, IOTA and Movement and prompting Sui DEX Full Sail to confirm user vault losses. In the US, the SEC's custody modernization rule entered final OIRA review with an NPRM targeted for October, while Bitcoin ETFs saw their first outflow in nine days (-$201.9M) even as Ethereum, XRP and Solana funds kept drawing inflows. Elsewhere, the Senate scheduled a Sept. 15 CLARITY Act vote, BIS rejected stablecoins as large-scale payment infrastructure, and Sberbank and Dunamu-Visa advanced crypto-backed lending and stablecoin payment plans.
